The Process

1. Let us know that you are interested

We will send you updates and reminders about the process along the way.

Leading to the summer, we will be checking in with you about your application and help prepare you and your family for the summer.

2. Start your Application

When the application opens, you will receive a link sent to the information provided. Fill it out to the best of your ability.

3. Gather References

Find who knows you best! Connect with your:

  • Lead Pastor
  • Youth Pastor
  • Bible Study Group
  • RA/Challenger Leader

4. Complete Leadership Training Camp

Completion requires the recommendation of your unit leader. During the week, you will be trained in:

  • Sharing the Gospel
  • Sharing their Testimony
  • Leading a Bible Study or Devotion
  • Teamwork & Group Leadership Skills

Your recommendation will be based primarily on their:

  • Spiritual Maturity
  • Interpersonal skills, and
  • Personal responsibility in tasks assigned

Following a favorable recommendation during the week, you will receive the title of State Staffer and receive their assignments for the Summer.

5. Serve, “as unto the Lord”

During your service, you will put into practice the training you received at LTC. At camps and missions opportunities, you will have the chance to:

  • Present the Gospel
  • Pray with others
  • Lead in recreation, bible study, and devotions
  • Work in a team environment
  • Build friendships for a lifetime
  • Receive biblical discipleship

We pray that these opportunities equip you to be a leader in your family, school, church, and community; giving you a vision to be “on-mission” for the next stage of your life.

Training

Evangelism

Evangelism, sharing the message of Christ around the world!

You will receive training in ways to present the gospel in easy to understand language, beginning first with what the scriptures teach us. During training, you will have multiple opportunities to practice in a supportive environment.

Leadership

Leadership skills are essential during the summer.

You will be trained to lead in games, activities, bible study, campfire dramas and more, while including Christ in everything you do.

Teamwork

“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” – Pr 27:17 (ESV)

You will work within multiple teams during the summer: your staffer team, the camp team, and the state team. Each team seeks to build each other up with our words and encouragement so that we may be more effective is sharing the message of Christ. Together, you will have a part in planning for the day, leading in devotionals and prayer, and evaluating what could be done better.

Bible Study

Our strength comes from the Lord.

Daily, you will be encouraged to study the word of God. Throughout the summer, you will have an opportunity to share what you have been learning from God’s word. Our hope is that this is not just a summertime activity, but a year long activity.
